Open water swimming is an expensive sport largely due to the costs related to swimmer safety: support boats, insurance, permits. As a not for profit organization, NYOW relies on the volunteer efforts of the race directors and other support staff to keep the costs for our events as low as possible. Even then, prices for entry can be prohibitive, especially for young people that are new to the sport.
In order to promote and further the growth and longevity of the sport, New York Open Water provides financial support for youth in open water events. Currently we offer significant discounts for participants under the age of 25 for entry into our events. For more information please contact us.
